(NATURE) being a
collective of major trade unions in Sri Lanka
Including those in
our plantations lauds the declaration of an
International Tea
Day, which falls on 15th December beginning
from
2005.
The International Tea
Day (lTD) is dedicated to the struggling
workers in tea
plantations and affirms their right and those of the
tea small
growers for improvement in their conditions. The ITD
provides the
opportunity to highlight the plight of these sections
who are being
buffeted by the ravages of the global trade regime.
May the
activities of the International Tea Day grow from
strength to strength
and become a beacon
of hope to the toiling people in the tea
plantations and the
small growers of tea.
